PART 1 
I. Tranh có nhiều nhân vật - Picture 
Loại câu ảnh có nhiều nhân vật chiếm khoảng 3 câu trong Part 1. Trong ảnh có 
chứa khoảng từ 2-5 nhân vật và có khi lựa chọn đúng lại là các sự vật hoặc bối 
cảnh xuất hiện trong bức ảnh. 
Vì vậy các em cần luyện tập nghe nhiều để rút ra kinh nghiệm cho bản thân. 
Sau đây là một số chiến thuật để giành điểm cao đối với dạng câu hỏi này. 
1. Phán đoán chủ ngữ (Subject) 
2. Quan sát vẻ bề ngoài của từng nhân vật (Appearance) 
3. Quan sát vẻ bề ngoài của nhóm nhân vật (common appearance) 
4. Quan sát động tác của từng nhân vật ( action) 
5. Quan sát động tác chung của các nhân vật (common action) 
6. Quan sát vị trí và trạng thái của các nhân vật. Sau đây là một số ý có thể 
được miêu tả: 
 Các nhân vật đối diện nhau (face to face, facing each other, across 
from each other) 
 Các nhân vật đang ở cạnh nhau (next to each other) 
 Các nhân vật đang xếp thành hàng (making a line, lining up, in a row, 
in a line) 
7. Ngoài các nhân vật, các bạn cần quan sát những thứ xung quanh nhân vật: 
trạng thái và chi tiết đặc biệt xung quanh cũng có thể là đáp án. Mỗi bài thi có 
từ 1 đến 2 câu hỏi loại này. 
8. Nơi chốn các nhân vật đang hiện diện cũng có thể được đề cập trong các lựa

chọn. Nơi chốn có thể là xác định vị trí (park, office, kitchen) hay không 
gian (at the computer, on the desk, on one’s bicycle) 
II. Tranh Miêu tả vị trí và trạng thái của sự vật - Picture 
Đây là dạng tranh không có người xuất hiện mà chỉ có sự vật. Loại này được hỏi 
từ 1 đến 3 câu trong bài thi. Loại câu hỏi miêu tả tranh này khó hơn loại câu có 
người nên các bạn cần lưu ý một số điểm sau đây: 
1. Hãy suy nghĩ tên của sự vật trong bức ảnh bằng tiếng Anh để sẵn sàng cho 
các câu hỏi như “ What is it? What are they?” 
2. Hãy quan sát đặc điểm bên ngoài của sự vật giống như đối với tranh về người 
3. Quan sát mối quan hệ tương quan giữa vị trí của sự vật này với sự vật kia. 
4. Quan sát cẩn thận những thứ xung quanh sự vật 
5. Mặc dù ảnh không có người nhưng có thể xuất hiện các câu lựa chọn nói về 
người. Đối với lựa chọn đó, các bạn có thể dễ dàng loại trừ. 
III. Một số cụm từ hay xuất hiện trong TOEIC - Phần nghe tranh 1 
người - Part 1 TOEIC Listening 
Như các em đã biết, trong câu hỏi về hình ảnh ở Part 1, cần lưu ý con người làm 
trọng tâm. Cần quan sát kĩ động tác của người đó. Đây là dang câu hỏi đạt con 
người làm trọng tâm nên em cần luyện tập cách miêu tả những đặc điểm về ngoại 
hình, động tác của nhân vật dựa theo cấu trúc “Be + V-ing” đồng thời cần làm 
quen với những từ vựng miêu tả đồ vật hay cảnh vật xung quanh con người. 
Sau đây là một số cụm từ cơ bản cần biết, rất hay xuất hiện trong kì thi TOEIC, khi 
trong hình xuất hiện một người.
