2. Các cấu trúc câu hỏi WH thường gặp

a. Nguyên tắc đặt câu hỏi

- Nếu chưa có trợ động từ thì phải mượn trợ động từ: do/ does/ did

- Nếu trợ động từ sẵn có (am/ is/ are/ can/ will/ shall/ could/ would) thì đảo chúng ra trước chủ ngữ, không mượn do/ does/ did nữa.

b. Cấu trúc thông thường của loại câu hỏi Wh – questions

HOW/WH-QUESTIONS:
Trong Tiếng Anh, khi chúng ta cần hỏi rõ ràng và cần có câu trả lời cụ thể, ta dùng câu hỏi với các từ để hỏi. Loại câu này còn được gọi là câu hỏi trực tiếp (direct questions).

Dạng 2: Câu hỏi bổ ngữ
Wh-word + to be + S + Complement?

- Complement là danh từ hoặc tính từ
- động từ be chia theo chủ ngữ
Dạng 3: Câu hỏi chủ ngữ
Wh-word + V + object?

- Động từ chính luôn được chia theo ngôi thứ ba số ít

I. THÌ QUÁ KHỨ ĐƠN
1. Form:	a. To be:
(+) Affirmative: 	S + was/ were.	
(-) Negative: 	S + was/ were not.	(wasn’t/ weren’t)	
(?) Interrogative: 	Was/ Were + S ..?
ü Yes, S + was/ were.	
û No, S + was/ were+ not.
* Lưu ý: I, He, She, It, N số ít : was
We, You, They, N số nhiều : were
Ex: He was at school yesterday.
 	Mr. Nhat wasn’t in that hotel last night.

b. Ordinary verb:
(+) Affirmative: S + V2/ Ved	 
(-) Negative: 	S + did not + V nguyên mẫu. (did not = didn’t)	 
(?) Interrogative: 	Did + S + Vo..?

Ex: 	I saw Tam in the park last Sunday.
 They didn’t visit her last night.

2. Cách dùng chính:
Thì quá khứ đơn dùng để diễn tả hành động xảy ra và hoàn tất trong quá khứ với thời gian xác định rõ. 
-	Hành động xen vào của thì QKTD: When + S + V( QKĐ), S + V ( QKTD).
- 	Hành động sảy ra sau của một hành đông khác ở thì QKHT: S + V( QKĐ), S + V ( QKHT).
Ex: - He was a doctor in this hospital from 1997 to 2005.
They finished the work two hours ago.
He bought this villa last month.
3. Cách thêm đuôi “ ed” trong các động từ có qui tắc.
- Động từ tận cùng đã là “e + d”: hope – hoped, arrive – arrived,
- Động từ tận cùng là “ y” thì “đổi y thành i + ed”: carry – carried,.
- Động từ một âm tiết tận cùng là một phụ âm và trước nó là một nguyên âm ta phải gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm ed: stop – stopped, beg – begged,
Động từ bất quy tắc
 - Là những động từ được chia ở cột 2 trong “Bảng động từ bất quy tắc” (học thuộc lòng)

5. Cách phát âm đuôi “ ed”:
- /id/: Khi tận cùng của động từ có chứa “ t, d”: want – wanted, decide – dec ... __

COULD:
- COULD là hình thức quá khứ của CAN, được dùng để chỉ khả năng trong quá khứ.
- Công thức:
(+) Khẳng định: 	S + could + V (nguyên mẫu)
(-) Phủ định: 	S + could not +V (nguyên mẫu) (could not = couldn’t)
(?) Nghỉ vấn: 	Could + S + V (nguyên mẫu) ?
 	ü Yes, S + could.
û No, S + couldn’t.
E.g: My grandfather could speak five languages.
WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Will be able to : dùng để diễn tả khả năng ở tương lai.
- Công thức:
(+) Khẳng định: 	S + will be able to+ V (nguyên mẫu)
(-) Phủ định: 	S + will NOT be able to +V (nguyên mẫu) (will not = won’t)
(?) Nghỉ vấn: 	Will + S + be able to +V (nguyên mẫu) ?
 	ü Yes, S + will.
û No, S + won’t.
E.g: 	The baby will be able to speak next month.
I won’t be able to go to the party tonight.
